  1. no way will Dario Franchitti come back to IRL he has already dominated the IRL Circuit and will be a great addition to NASCAR

  2. I think he should consider it. Out of all the open wheel converts, Montoya can obviously make it in NASCAR and I think Allmendinger and Hornish can be competitive if they're given enough time.

  3. The rumor mill is now saying her will go back to AGR and race in the American LeMans Series

  4. yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssss...

  5. He might, but I don't think so.  He could make a run for F1.

  6. I hope so. He is a repectable driver

  7. Ganassi will probably but him in his Nationwide car for some races, he needs more seat time, face it these huge tanks are harder to drive than most people think. I do not see him coming back to IRL, it would be nice, but I just do not think so, or he could go to the DP Rolex series.

    Go Helio

  8. I hope so!

  9. I don't think he will. II think he has a lot to prove at Nascar and going back will only lead to him being a quitter.

  10. if he ever wants to win again he will its the best move for him

  11. OK ... here's my 2-cents ... buckle up.  This is from one of my previous posts to a similar question:

"Could we see Dario return to IndyCar?  Forget it. Absolutely forget it. Dario has *NOTHING* left to prove in the IndyCar Series. He's got his Indy 500 victory, and he got his IndyCar Series championship - both in 2007. He left IndyCars at the top of his game. Could he get back into an IndyCar? Sure. Does he want to? Personally, I think we've seen the last of Dario in an open-wheel car. Last year's "flights" at both Michigan and Kentucky I think made him think long and hard about returning (plus, I find it highly ironic that both "flights", he walked away from unscathed, but his big NASCAR accident, he broke his ankle).

Dario may have gone to NASCAR for the money, but personally, I really believe he went to NASCAR more for the "next challenge". After several years doing something, we all need to be looking for that "next challenge" to keep ourselves and our sanity fresh and active. This is why he went to NASCAR. Could he have gone to a full-time sports car? Personally - that's where I think he will end up in 3-4 years. Much safer, and he's a proven winner there, too. Perhaps in one of TCGR's sports cars in ALMS."

Mind you - my opinions only.

  12. I doubt it, but I really really really hope so.

  13. I doubt it.

He is making more in the Nationwide Series than the IRL would make him.

I'd like to see him in an Indycar again.

at least ol Chip could dust off a backup car next year for him to run in the Indy 500.

EDIT>>>>>I'm so tired of hearing the "safer" excuse when racecar drivers move on to another dicipline.

Hitting a wall at Richmond at 130mph or hitting a dumptruck in your SUV at 45mph....it's all the same... DEAD IS DEAD.

Mr. Earnhardt lost his life in what looked like a fairly harmless connection with the wall....Tomas Scheckter and Kenny Brack got together in Texas a few years ago, Scheckters car EXPLODED against the wall and fence and he walked away?....to me, saying one car is "safer" than another is only a means of discounting one car compared to another..

If you strap in.......you understand the posibilities....

Dario is racing because Dario is a "RACECAR DRIVER"!!

He's won in Sports Cars, he dominated the IRL, he's not old, he has aan Indy500 win, a hot ,famous wife, why wouldn't he try another challenge?...I'll bet if the deal was right Dario would try a Top Fuel dragster....."SAFER" is merely a way to get Ashley to settle down a little.....she married a freaking RACECAR DRIVER....what did she expect?------"go fast"----- is imbedded in his DNA......he also flies planes and helicopters....and last year he even tried " flying racecars"....twice in a row!!!........the car you drive has NOTHING to do with the REALITY of racecar driving....Death doesn't discriminate.....recently we lost Mr.Kallita, Paul Dana a few years ago, and dozens of other racing Patriots who traded  their life to fulfill a passion and desire...all racing rules and I tip my hat to ANYONE who "actually" has the balls to "strap in"....  we all tap away on our keys here and talk c**p but who has really lived the life of a racer?....talk is much cheaper than life........
