  1. no vegetarians drink milk, vegans don't... theres lots of in betweens though.  some poeple don't want to drink milk even though ti's not a dead animal becuase of the process.  the process to get milk and eggs is just as cruel as it is to get meat and supports the meat industry also.  but if your just starting out, i'd say go veg, and hten when your ready, go further to vegan if you want to.

  2. I dont think so cause they dont kill an animal to get the milk out. ..

  3. Salutations,

a vegetarian who eats eggs and drinks milk is called a Lacto-ovo vegetarian.  you can love animals all you want but Homo sapiens is an omnivore. Don't let any protien source you can use get away from you. and speaking of protien, fresh Soybeans, steamed, removed from the pod and sprinkled with sea salt are very tasty and have as much protien as a like amount of chicken or beef. Cheers

  4. Yes you can still drink milk and be a vegetarian, if you want to go vegan you cannot.

  5. Definitly not! Im also a vegi and i've done all the research. Only vegans can't drink milk. Milk is also good because it keeps your vitamin levels up, drink all you want! ** DId you know that milk help to prevent colon cancer!?* Also, if you are getting your infor from PETA, stop. It is a website that goes overboard and that finds ways to put false information into your head. Good luck!!

  6. You can call yourself a vegetarian and still drink milk.  But if your reason for becoming a vegetarian is because of animal rights, then you should consider the following.  Male dairy cows do not produce milk.  The ones that are not kept for breeding purposes are sent, right when they're born, to veal farms.  At these farms they are chained to prevent movement because this keeps their meat tender.  They're there for about two to three months before they are killed for meat.  So, you can be a vegetarian and drink milk, but drinking milk supports the veal industry.

  7. Veal is calf meat which is very expensive. The calf has to be removed from the mother cow so it can give the milk to the public. So this is the decision you must make.

  8. If you stop eating all animal flesh, but consume milk, you are an ovo-lacto vegetarian.

As someone else pointed out, milk is a rather cruel product, with a piece of veal in each glass.  Like all animals, cows must be pregnant to produce milk, and once they give birth, the calf is taken away within hours.  The girls become dairy cows like mom, and the boys are usually trucked off to veal crates.  It is this connection that made me ditch dairy.

Not to mention, you're a human being and should not be drinking bovine lactations.  And considering you're old enough to be using a computer keyboard, you probably should have been weaned years ago.

And remember this:  When production declines, the animals are killed.

  9. Nope..... At least no to me. My motto: To be a vegge you can drink the milk and not eat the meat!

  10. vegetarians drink milk, vegans don't. plain and simple.

  11. The milk was meant for the baby veal though.

    Gosh.

I drink soymilk instead. To me, it's much tastier.
