Will Dubai still be tax-free by next year?!?

Is it true that Dubai will be imposing taxes already by next year?! What happened?

yes, they will impose VAT (value added tax). although technically, they are already imposing indirect taxation for quite sometime (parking fees, salik, etc.)

IF 3%-5% VAT will be introduced in the UAE, the salaries will stay taxfree. Tax will be only on goods and services.

A final decision on the rate and timing of VAT's implementation will be taken by the federal government.

VAT got nothing to do with the new visa rules.

Tourists will be able for VAT refund when leaving the country like in every other country, too.
