Peter Moore's has apparently dismissed these claims. The champions league could win one county £2.5 million, with huge sums on offer to top players what do you think will happen?

  1. the biggest english players have the right along with every player to play where they want to. Good on them I say. You should cash in when you are at the top of your game. So yes, they will go.

  2. I think they will. If the ECB wants to keeps its better players they should pay them better.  I know I would seek the money if the opportunity arose.

  3. I think the ECB needs to tread very carefully as this is a real possibility. Lets face it cricketers are paid a fraction of what footballers are so you can't blame them for wanting to cash in.

Personally although I enjoy the shorter form of the game it's not proper cricket. I'd like to see better prize money on offer for test matches to even things out as at the monent it's a joke compared to what players can earn in the new champions league.

  4. Didn't know cricket had a champions league.

  5. Well give me a spaceship & call me a Martian! Move over Aimee & Asterix, here comes another alien. I have one comment to make, I wish India & their ill gotten gains would all disappear in a cloud of smoke. They have bastardized cricket enough. Whereas Kerry Packer just wanted to add to the game with his ODIs, India want to own it. This is spite because they have no part in The Ashes series, so they thought up micky mouse cricket to get even.

  6. a cricketer can earn money in a lot of different ways, but playing for your country cannot be bought, therefore i dont think any player will turn there back on there country to play for money, no one remembers you for playing for money, but they do remember you if you have played for your country

  7. As far as the champions league goes, it would be played during the English autumn, just after our domestic season ends, so its not really a problem from that respect.

But seeing as how most counties scrape by on tiny budgets, a few multi-millionaire teams in England  would really badly distort the balance of fair competition...just as has happened in the football Premiership. Three teams dominate and the rest are nowhere.

  8. I heared the commentators discussing about it...  question is..  is India funding this champions league? hahahaha

  9. It's only a matter of time before cricket becomes as money orientated as football is at the moment.

Once that happens, that's another sport they've killed off !

  10. Who's Peter Moore?

Edit.   Sorry.   Not really up to date on English cricket!

  11. I am eagerly awaiting for the Champions League....................Finally, we can see judge which country's domestic cricket set up is the best...........................

I hope not................................I really hope not.........I am pretty sure they won't.
