Question:

Will England have it?

A month before the cup started I put 20 pounds on England making the final betting against an English mate. He was convinced England didn't stand a chance this time round. He still thinks they are playing terrible rugby and as a nation, slipping further behind the rest of the world. Do any other English people think English rugby is in trouble despite making the final or is it better than ever ?

I think many countries wrote them off too early but was that always part of a master plan or have England been lucky to get through to yet another WC final ?

  1. Of course the Boks will win..

Na im kidding, i really dont know.. See im from New Zealand.. yeah i know, u dont even have to say it, but i hope England wins....Good Luck!

  2. Eng are not playing attractive rugby but are playing to their limited strenghs ie using the forwards to grind out possession and then kicking the penalties with the odd try now & again.

I would to see them play a nicer style but you have to play to the skill level or your players at any one time. At present the backs are weaker than the forwards (in offensive play that is).

I think they may have come to the end of their run (ie SA forwards will not allow what ENG did to AUS) so advantage lost.

But, fair play to them, as they have performed way in excess of expectations. The average Eng supporter hardly expected them to get out the group!!

  3. Well let's see, besides the Boks, Argantina was the only other unbeaten side in the RWC.

Not to mention that England was whipped so badly by SA already.

Not only are they lucky, they are pretentious about it.

    Watch out England,

    cause, hier kom die BOKKE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Not out by any standard 'damian' there performance through the RWC is highly debateable and yes I would like to think that there performance in pool play re: SAs trouncing of them was an 'undercover spy mission' lol (hopefully you know what I mean by that) in that the game was shot at all angles and surely they would have watched and made significant changes to counteract the said 'spring bok onslaught' (well one can only wish and hope).

The Eng-Aus game, p**s-poor-effort Aussie - handed there a$$es to Eng' on a platter (yes I know my criticism of Aus' is harsh - they should have known better) however to be drawn into the style of rugby that Eng is so famous for - one could only think ''what the h**l are you doing oz!!!'', do I think Eng deserved there win? debatable, the difference with Aus and Eng - Eng had the mental strength to pull them through.

Eng - France now they are starting to play to there potential, unluckly for the french team, abit more free flowing - stop n start tactics yes, however derserving of a win.

I think for the most part Eng have been severly underestimated and I agree with some that if there style of rugby pulls them through then why not.

Rugby is a game of skill yes however you must also use your 'brain' and that is exactly what Eng have been doing.

I am convinced that they have what it takes to win however Im not as convinced that this is the weekend they will do it.

  5. I hope South Africa wins! Beside s they already whipped England in the last game. So there is a high chance.

    Go South Africa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  6. Im an Aussie, and i am guessing you know my view on the English side. In saying that i think they are lucky.

  7. I think when SA beat England in the Pool Game, the Poms had something up their sleeves...Now that they have reached the finals...any mistake from the Springboks may cause them the Game!

It's a bit too early to predict...Let's see how the 1st 20 mins of play goes!
