i'm afraid the aussies will be far too strong for all the other teams. england may get to the final depending on the strength of the new zeland team.

more importantly let's hope this competion is a sucess unlike the 2000 event. the 1995 competion showed it can be a success.

i believe the question refers to the oldest rugby world cup the league one which takes place in australia in november.

thankfully somebody on this page reads the question before answering....as trinity till i die points out,the oldest world cup in rugby(league)begins near the end of the year...your always gonna back the aussies but there could be some upsets...hopefully england make it to the final...with the team and coach they"ve got now the"ll never have a better chance....

Robert T is right - the RWC was last year, the next (in New Zealand I believe) is in 2001.  Too long to wait.

On form and style, Australia should beat England any day.

England's first time playing as a single nation and not as Great Britain...can't wait.

I think England can beat the Aussies, but you can never underestimate the kangaroos when they are playing at home.  Mind you, in union we beat the Aussies at home in the world cup final, so why not.  We're playing well, and we have some amazing players who can take us all the way.

Firstly I hope we do, you just never know, a new crop of players coming through like Burgess in the pack and with the likely halfbacks both showing good form this season so far it looks promising. If Yeaman can stay fit and show some form he is a great in attack & muscles up in defence really well, please don't play Senior!!

It will be a really good England squad this year I can feel it.

Lets hope they all stay uninjured.

It also helped having that whitewash against NZ even if they were without many of their 1st selections it has boosted confidence no end. SL will be very intense & closer than ever this season so I reckon this will bode well for the series.

Who knows if we win it we might get some proper recognition for the best & hardest sport in the world.

If your talking about the great game of Rugby League let me assure you that I would be shocked if England get within 40 points of the Great Australian team consisting of Lockyer, Hindmarsh, Smith, Falou, Stewart just to name a few. It's not only the players but it's during Summer, every game will be played in adleast 30c heat.
