HE BETTER HOPE NOT BECAUSE HE'S NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER. RETOOL WOULD BE MORE LIKE IT BUT I BELIEVE HE WON'T BE NUMBER ONE NO MATTER WHAT!

He will never be #1.  He's playing in the Tiger era.

He can revise it all he wants, it won't do him any good.  Ernie will never be #1.

He's ontrack right now to becomeing the comeback player of the year.  As far as Number One that will take a little longer.

i think if he starts by actually winning tournaments and hires an Israeli assault team to kidnap tiger woods or kill him then it possible he could be number 1. but i like ernie els. he has finished number 2 to tiger so many times and admits it tiger is  the greatest he has ever played against. i think ernie is getting older and his window of opportunity is closing. but tiger said he is finally playing his best golf.

If he's in year three of his plan he's got a serious problem. Tiger is so far ahead in the Official World Rankings he can take two years off and still be no. 1. Ernie has been in the top ten of the Official World Rankings longer than anyone, 670 weeks, but I don't  think he will reach no. 1 again. His family and business interests simply draw him away from that goal.
