New players, New coach, New training methods, faster legs. Is there anything missing that could see them up there with the Cats ??

  1. essendon has done alrite so far, just need to concentrate a bit more. good game against carlton the other day though.

  2. they are no where near the cats.

i think they are border line for the finals this year

but players like Davey, Lovett, Houli, Laycock, Ryder, Dyson look to be steping up, and hopefully when Gumleton and Jetta get back into the side lets hope they can bring something to the side

  3. Yes, and I am a 'Dons supporter. Of all the guys who have senior coaching experience & were available - we get this idiot who achieved nothing when coaching in the SANFL, arguably the best comp outside the AFL.

Neale Daniher at least had AFL experience and even had his side playing finals every 2 years or so.Not a perfect record, but he at least had a f***'n clue.

  4. i reckon the bombers will finish in  the top 8 this year. this is coming from a crows supporter too

  5. Experience in the finals. Essendon are similar to the Hawks but roughly a year behind them. I say sit back enjoy your year a good chance that they may throw pie in my face, but do not expect more than semis or possibly the prelim, for you I hope not but realistically no more than this.

I would then say for 2009 get your membership ticket and start lining up for the Grandfinal because after a year of maturity and hard work they will be hungry and will probably be there.

  6. yes jemima, it's called talent love, (come on only mucking around)

there is plenty missing, i think you know that, beating Carlton, does not make them finals material, us tiger supporters know that.

no, you wont see them up with the cats, maybe 3 years but not yet, sorry but i think they are a long way off.

  7. Yes, they may well struggle.

But then again, if the do struggle their fans can swap over to the Fremantle Dockers mid season (if that team is faring better) as the Dockers have a Bombers coach; plus two ex-bomber assistant coaches; an ex- bomber players manager (or whatever they call them nowadays); plus half the Bombers old discard players!

  8. Nah i think they'll do ok, it will take them time to get it all geled together but they have proven enough to suggest they will be a better team than last year.

Let them get the whole strategies and playing styles down and a lil more experience and it wont be long before they make it to the finals. A year or 2 if they keep progressing the way they have so far this year.

  9. We defiantly won't struggle, we have a chance of making the eight but won't be at our best for another year or two. But we have some very exciting talent and a bright future.

  10. You need to think. Essendon has quite a good line up. We have tall forwards a great backline, but our midfield has no speed and is unfit. I wouldn't think they could be up with the cats but only expect Essendon to make the 8 this year. Who knows where they will be in the next 3 years
