  1. Unless the sender has requested that they obtain a signature, they will generally leave it.


  2. They may leave the package at the gate, and it can disappear with $100 compensation as they can change the declared value to zero.  

    if you dont have option of signature required with Fedex and proof of insurance by email before shipment, then you loose all.
