By big, I mean prominence, not physical size.

And please don't post answers like "Wanderlei will kill Forrest"...We all saw how he beated Rampage and Shogun when he was the underdog.

  1. wandi will crush forrest LOL just playin.

Forrest is a proven fighter so I dont see him fighting a flunky for name promotion. When he got dropped by rampage he had the know it all to pull guard quick that really impressed me. I dont think that rampage had his head in the game for this one cause he came like a one dimesional fighter pure stand up and bad D. I really dont see Dana leaving Chuck in the dark if he beats Rashad. Yeah Forrest is possible poster boy but did anyone else hear the booooos after the fight cause I'm sure Dana did if a fighter is not exiting with knock outs and submissions he is not promotable. Chuck wins he gets the title shot; Chuck looses i would love to see wandi fight forrest cause of his aggressive power but its very likely that rampage gets rematch if chuck looses cause I get the feeling that rashad is not very promotable in Danas eyes.

  2. I would like to see him fight Shogun again

  3. He will first have a simple fight. Someone who is credible but doesn't pose a huge threat. You gotta remember Dana White wants Forrest to stay on top because he is his baby. He came from the first TUF series so to see him on top is a win for Dana White as well. Forrest wont see a real fight untill late winter because they like to promote people.

You also have to think about everything happening in that division. You know have Brandon Vera dropping to 205, you have Anderson Silva coming up to 205, Lyoto Machida and Wanderlei making their name known as well as Rampage wanting a rematch. Rampage needs to fight 2-3 more fights to deserve a rematch. Anderson Silva needs to prove he can make it at 205. If he wins 2 convincing fights he will have a title shot. Wanderlei needs to win a few more fights to get his confidence back but he might fight Rampage. Lyoto Machida will need a few more big name wins to be considered.

Rampage losing is a good thing for the division because it made better match ups across the table. You can see Anderson Silva vs Lyoto Machida, Rapage Jackson vs Wanderlei Silva, Thiago Silva and Matt Hamil are on the rise. Also Silva is fighting James Irvin (knocked out houston Alexander in 8 seconds). So expect a marginal opponent like a Wilson Gouveia or even another Stephen Bonner match. Then when he wins he will fight a big one that the UFC can promote the h**l out of.

Remeber Rampage fought Marvin Eastman before he had his bouts with Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson and Forrest Griffin.

  4. Probably an immediate rematch with rampage. There is much better matchups with rampage as champ. Although I wouldn't mind seeing forrest hold on the belt so shogun could rematch him with the belt on the line.

  5. He already lost to Jardine so that would be a good fight, but Wanderlei just beat Jardine. It is going to someone who hasn't lost resently. I think the winner of Evans vs Liddell will be considered the number one contender and get a shot at the title.

  6. Jardine? No chance. Wanderlei is a possibility but knowing how Dana is infatuated with Chuck Liddell, I would imagine the winner of Evans/Liddell will face Griffin next. In fact, I'd put money on it.

  7. Well he wont fight Jardine, and other than Jardine there is only big name top notch guys out there. 205 is so crazy who could they get him to fight that wouldnt be a big name? Brandon Vera? If they got a cupcake for him at 205 fans would riot given the amount of talent thats in that division, and on top of that Griffin has proven himself now, he can fight some top notch guys. I think they give him Machida first since Griffin (and more importantly his camp) is smart enough to out gameplan Machida and beat him, you know Dana White is sick of Machida's style and he has a wealth of other guys who he loves in 205 so he'll have no problem finding guys to fight.

  8. I think it might be a rematch with rampage. I think forest would actually beat wandi the reach look what chuck did to him, but it would be a good fight.

  9. He might fight the winner of Liddell/Evans fight or Lyoto Machida. There's no way Forrest is going to fight Jardine after Jardine's embarrassing loss to Wanderlei. Forrest against Wanderlei would be a good fight.
