  1. Not after getting the sweet taste of freedom 200+ years ago.

  2. they killed the last one. so id say no.

  3. The French have gotten rid of the monarchy twice. First with a bloody revolution from 1789-92. The monarchy was restored from 1814-48, but there was another revolution.  So I doubt they really want a monarchy back. At this point I don't think there is anyone left who would have a legitimate claim to the throne anyway. If France ever did have another king, it would probably be due to conquest by the British or Spanish.

  4. Probably not.  Their last best chance was after their loss in the Franco-Prussian War.

Louis Alphonse, Duke of Anjou, is probably next in line to the French throne, if there would be a restoration of the monarchy. However, there are some who feel that the current Spanish king, Juan Carlos, has a better claim.

  5. non

  6. They broke the last one they had, so they don't deserve another monarchy.

  7. Not likely.  The royal family has been gone for too long now, and it is unlikely the French would want them back, they've got used to being without them.

However, the person who said that the president would cost less than the monarchy is mistaken.  The British monarchy for instance costs us 66p a year each, while the italian president costs £1.24, almost twice as much, and I doubt that the French president costs much less.
