Will France make a good start in the final round of Boys’ Youth Championship?
The 2011 CEV Volleyball Youth European Championship has entered the final round. Three matches will be played on Saturday, April 16, which will mark the official opening of the final phase of the Boys’ Youth European Championship.
Teams from Spain and Belgium will be featured in the opening match of final round in Pool I. The Pool I of the Youth Championship includes teams from Spain, Belgium, Ukraine, France, Russia and Finland. Turkish city Ankara will host the Pool I matches.
France and Ukraine will open the final round at 17:30 (local time). It will be a great experience to watch the defending champions of France coping with the power of Ukrainian team. The French team is headed by coach, Jean-Manuel Leprovost who has formulised
a great strategy for his team. The French team claimed huge success during the last season under the command of Leprovost. They are ready to take on Ukraine and influence them with a great display of volleyball.
The French is mix bag of experienced and young players. Most essentially, it has players who were born in 1993 and 1994 but it also has a 16-year-old player. Mederic Henry is the youngest player in France’s squad. He has impressive physical skills and stands
out for his solid kills. French team will be using as a top gun against Ukrainian team.
On the other hand, the Team Ukraine is known for its good defence. They have excellent middle blockers, who have specific way of putting pressure on the other side. They are also fully prepared to fight the battle of supremacy with France. They will surely
be trying their best to pave their way to the semis.
The French mentor, Leprvost is optimistic about the good performance of his team.
He stated, “We were able to get and scout videos of all our opponents” continues the French mentor, “and as usual in youth competitions, very good actions are followed by very poor sections. We will have a first test with Ukraine tomorrow always bearing
in mind that the teams with the more solid and consistent play will finally have the upper hand.”
The French team recently completed a training camp in Montpellier. After extensive training session, the team travelled to Turkey. They installed their bases in Ankara this past Sunday.
Meanwhile, the French team gave the final touch to their preparation and played a few friendly matches with local teams. They beat a Turkish team in straight sets on Monday.
The French squad is ambitious and are working hard. They have better prospects to take over the control of the game.
