Therien has scratched Laraque and inserted Roberts on the Pens 4th line tonight. What kind of difference do you think that will make?

He will definitely add some much needed grit that the Pens lacked in game 1. The only thing they hit during that game was the ice when the Wings crushed them. Roberts brings some much needed leadership as well and they need his experience.

it won't make a difference.

if the coaching staff saw him as important as they are making him out to be, he would've been in game 1... he was just a healthy scratch then too.

the big difference will come from detroit's side with Johan Franzen on the ice.

The addition of Roberts wont offset the subtraction of scrambling the lines, I think.  Therrien seems to have a knack for pushing buttons, but messing up lines and chemistry against a team as good as Detroit is just asking for it.

Absoluetly not. No line up change is meaningful for the Pens, as they aren't very deep. It's just locker room and media attention. Just a ploy for the team.

You want to get technical? Doesn't EVERY team have a 4th line? I wrote about depth, not 4th line scoring.

After such a dismal performance Sat night, scoring 1 goal will be an improvement for the whole Pens organization, this isn't the Lemeiux/Jagr era.

As far as Gary Roberts this is definitely the right move, he may not do a whole lot offensively but will definitely provide some much needed leadership in the locker room.
