Will Global Warming Go Away On Its Own?

Without any government action, there hasn't been any warming since 2001.

Is "global warming" taking care of itself naturally with out any action by man? And if it is, why should we take action that will raise taxes?

It's just a natural cycle.  Warming and cooling has been going on for millions of years and will continue long after we're extinct.

We know for a fact that the planet was much warmer in the past and it's been a lot cooler as well.

No one really knows exactly what triggers these cycles in the climate.  Theories have been around for decades, but all the models have been inaccurate so far.  

Many blame the greenhouse layer for the warming, but humans have negligible contribution to it and the effect is very natural and normal.  

Burning fuels that were created millions of years ago is part of the conservation of energy laws we learn in science.

So there are all sorts of theories, but as yet no proof humans have any effect at all on the temperature of the planet.

You seem already knowledgeable on the subject, but there are lots of science books others could read to enlighten themselves on global warming/cooling.

The hoax of AGW only seems to work on the very feeble minded of the population.  The proponents are usually those who profit off the ignorant, so expect a lot of opposition to my posting by the "believers."

Yes.

GW continues, but ostrich-man, head firmly in the sand, ignores it or denies it.

Climate change becomes so rapid and dramatic that wholescale disruptions to the ecosystem occur.

Mankind is hugely affected by these changes and the human population crashes to a few millions (maybe catastrophically over a few decades or more controlled over a few centuries).

The reduction in people = reduction in human activity and the planet's climate stabilises at a new equilibrium.

Man-made global warming is a myth.

There have been periods of global warming and global cooling all throughout history.

There is no reason to think this time will be any different. A period of warming will always follow with a period of cooling.

A few scientists have theories that a "negative feedback" (mostly the idea is clouds) will reverse globall warming.  Most al  scientists disagree, and political, military, and business leaders believe it is way past foolish to bet on these people being right; and not take action to reduce greenhouse gases.

Basically the only answer to this is "All the scientists are lying", which is the argument from people who believe the Earth is 6000 years old, or that NASA faked the moon landings.  Not exactly an argument based on education.

Here is truth about global warming:

Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.

The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.

This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.

Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is

becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).

As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).

When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.

It's been happening for millions of years.

The worrisome and brutal predictions of drastic climate effects are based on computer models, NOT CLIMATE HISTORY.

As you probably know, computer models are not the most reliable of sources, especially when used to 'predict' chaotic systems such as weather.

However, he said, that same cycle meant a period of cooling would begin soon and last for several years.

"We'll look back on all of this in 10 or 15 years and realise how foolish it was," Dr Gray said.

What we can hope and work for, it to show the ignorance and intentional misleading of those in the movement for personal gain.    If we are successful, they will make such a fool of their self's that they will actually help us out.

It may have already begun.

It still amazes me, that there are so many lunatics in this world that completely ignore science, and yet claim to have so-called 'Scientific Evidence', simply because they have found some web pages to support their belief.

I would like anyone to explain how an invisible gas that that exists naturally in the atmosphere at 17 ounces per ton could be any threat of any kind.

Also, man's current contribution is only 0.8% of that total!

This means that man's minor addition of atmospheric CO2 is only 0.136 ounces per ton!

To put it another way, that is only 0.000425%, even at 27 billion tons/year (and that is even being generous)!

The actual figure is more than likely to be less than that!

This is science, not politics!

This scam has nothing to do with science, and everything to do with manipulation, and making money!

We do NOT need facts or science any more, we only need to control people by manipulation!

Physically, yes.  It's actually a fact that we are already on a long-scale return to another ice age in about 10,000 years, well past the warmest period.  The miniscule "warming" that we saw a short while ago was temporary and entirely due to solar activity, ironically proven to be substantially worse on planets which did not have a thick atmosphere with heavy amounts of CO2 to protect the surface!

But, no, the religion of Envirofundamentalism will not go away, and with a very gullible and uneducated public it will only grow stronger.  

Its charismatic pope, their Holy Father Albert Gore Jr., continues to get away with his deceptions and outright lies, and even when caught and shown and proven to be lying, he is allowed by his followers to shrug it off without any explanation.  He also wisely avoids and disallows any debate within the Church or by its Church members.

And their Church membership is heavily implanted in most of the world's goverments.  The United States is even ready to adopt some of the Church beliefs as national law, despite the Constitutional non-establishment clause.

So the worldwide Church of Envirofundamentalism is well on its way to controlling everyone's lives for quite a long time, until their mythology is proven wrong.  But they will left the world economy in ruins by then, and if anything, we'll probably be polluting even more as a matter of necessity (lack of cheap energy = burning lots more wood and coal, cutting down forests, etc.).

And just wait, because the Church of Envirofundamentalism is already planning its version of the "Spanish Inquisition".

I find it very difficult to understand how any reasonably educated person can take this AGW stuff seriously. Really any basic scrutiny of geological, oceanographic and historical records will show this stuff to be absolute rubbish. History proves that this happens on a semi regular cyclic period and that those who are promoting the concept are probably doing so for financial reasons rather than humanitarian ones. The stance taken by this Dana person is completely without scientific or historical support, what is his real line of work because it can certainly not be involves with science.

We should always take care of the environment,  creating a carbon tax has nothing to do with cleaning up the environment it just a way to hold the working class down and allow the elite to use the environment the way they see it.  A large playground and they do not want the average Joe playing in what they deem their playground.   So the theory of AGW is not going away.
