Will Green Tea keep me awake?

I'm looking for a better alternative to coffee at night when I have to study like crazy. I tried black tea and it worked really well but I was trying to see if green tea would do the same.

Green tea will keep you awake, because all teas contain some caffeine. While green tea usually contains much less caffeine than coffee, you will still feel the effects if you drink a couple of cups.

One trick sometimes used by tea lovers is to throw away the first steep of the tea, then reuse the leaves for a new cup of tea. The theory is that most of the caffeine will have seeped out into the first cup (which you threw away).

An alternative might be to drink herbal tea (chamomile, mint, hibiscus, or jasmin). Or you might consider switching to white tea, which contains less caffeine than green tea, but has three times the amount of beneficial antioxidants.

Green tea is awesome full of anti-oxidents and yes it will keep you awake. It DOES have caffeine (see link) be your buzz will be milder and a lot healthier!

Green Tea does have caffeine. But, it's very good for you. I like mine with a little honey.

Teas to try if you want some sleep: Chamomile. Cat Nip (does the exact opposite for humans as it does for cats, totally mellows, so it would be good for after the test).

Green tea **DOES** have caffeine in it, as any tea does. (Herbal tea does not have any actual "tea" leaves in it).

The amount of caffeine is small in comparison to coffee or espresso, but Black and Green tea have roughly the same amount of caffeine.

Yes. Green tea keeps you fresh and awake . You can  take it strong  adding milk and sugar so that you will get sufficient energy required to study .

Yep, green tea works really well, specially if it's strong.

what's even better is green milk tea (the cold kind) or lemon green tea :) keeps my heart pumping for hours~
