I own a Dell XPS M1530 with a NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT with 256MB dedicated graphic memory. Its capable of paying Blu Ray fims, but if I have downloaded HD movies, will they play the same as a Blu-Ray disc.

Thanks,

Bobby

  1. Well, it being HD content will give you a better picture quality, but being that you downloaded it, understand that the video is going to be compressed, otherwise it would take up GIGABYTE AFTER GIGABYTE of space on your hard drive. When video is compressed, it loses video quality. a blu-ray film can be up to 50 GB...take that same 50gb movie and compress it down to let's say....1GB., you're losing 49GB of information, and well it's going to be different. So no, realistically it won't look the same as Blu-ray. I'm sure it will look better than regular video, but don't expect it to rival Blu-Ray.
