  1. Tomorow will be the day hurricane dolly hits mission.  The winds will be changing hour by hour so stay indoors.  The strongest winds will come tomorow at night which is aproximately 42mph.  So try to watch all the news on this hurricane to prevent things to happen to you. And dont stay near any windows when the hurricane comes, try to stay in a room that has no windows and buy alot of food and beverages to keep with you. The hurricane will only last about 12 hours, so if you can take a tv or radio to hear the update.

  2. Hurricane Dolly is going to hit Mission, Tx, I am in Mcallen.  Don't worry about it, it's going to be about one day of some rain and a little bit of wind.  After that one day which is Wednesday, life goes back to normal.  No biggy! .....If I were you, I wouldn't change my vacation plans.

  3. Do not worry, it is only Tropical Storm. I have lived 20-30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico my entire life. Hurricanes are not so bad. It is when you have a monster storm. I have had a few hurricanes ruin my vacations too. Hurricane season is like our family reunions. Relatives fleeing from city to city. For Katrina, we had 14 relatives from different sides of the family staying with us, most did not even tell us, just showed up. I have never fleed home for a hurricane, I usually just sleep through them. I flee afterwords if I loose electricity. No AC.

I attempted to go jogging during a tropical storm once. It was pretty scary, I did not even get to the end of the street before turning around.

  4. It won't be a Katrina but expect a lot of rain, maybe some flooding and possible power outages. Cat 1's are more of an inconvenience than killers. Just stay inside until it passes if you don't flood out. I have been a property adjuster for over 22 years. Get some drinking water because if it floods bad, the local water supply gets contaminated. Ice is a good thing to have plenty of too. Stock up on beer so you can party. If you don't party just chill and watch mother nature work. Good luck dude or dudette in your case . What is cool to do is to go out and check out the damage after the storm has passed. I live in the Houston area and that is what we do after a storm hits. You see some weird stuff. Especially if you saw the area before the storm hit. have fun Late JG

  5. I'm down here in Corpus Christi Texas. It looks like we'll get about 3 inches of rain and a lot of wind..hope that's all. Further north there will be a few tornadoes that get stirred up.

Hopefully you won't get too much rain or wind, but with a hurricane, even though you get to watch it come in, it can change direction at the last minute and come further North (in Dolly's case) than they have predicted. Hope not.

Try to have a nice vacation and not let the weather ruin your fun. A hurricane party can be great!!!!!!

  6. Yes, but if it stays a tropical storm, may not be too bad. I live on the coast but I don't leave town for tropical storms. Better plan to go to the movies...you may have a lot of rain.
