  1. Well, I Live In The Dallas Area & I Seriously Doubt That Anything Devastating Will Happen.  Nothing Except Heavy Rain And/Or Flooding.

  2. We'll probably get lots of high winds and heavy rains. But I doubt it'll be anything "too" serious.

  3. Depending where it makes landfall by the time it gets to Dallas your main worry will be heavy tropical rains and flooding...less rain if it moves quickly....more rain the longer the low hangs around.

  4. Yahoo has a great weather section on your homepage.  You can edit the module to get the exact weather (and extended forecast) for your zip-code.  In addition, there are links to potential storms, etc, so that you can track it .....

  5. Hurricanes don't hit Dallas.

We will get rain and sometimes tornadoes from a hurricane if it hits the coast and the storms travels in the correct path.

  6. Dallas is much too far away to be hit by a hurricane. Depending on where it hits, we may very well get rain, possibly heavy rain, from it a day or two after it hits land.

  7. How could you even tell if a Hurricane hit Garland? No offense, I grew up there.

But as everyone has said, no it won't, but we could get rain, possibly heavy. The farthest a hurricane has ever gone inland is Hazel in 1954, which hit as far north as upstate New York, but we're further from the coast than that.

  8. I have seen wwltv show a possible turn to the west once it makes landfall onto louisiana. if dallas receives anything it will be nothing more than rain and some gusts of wind. wwltv did put the storm dieing out around dallas texas but i would say that the area has no major threats from Gustav.
