I am going out tonight, and have left my actual driving license and passport at my other home so won't get a chance to fetch it till tomorow. Do you think a university photo id student card will work (it doesn't have my date of birth on) with a european health insurance card (has no photo on but has my name and date of birth) as ID to get into a club? I dont want to go out and then not get in anywhere..

  1. Off the top of my head I'd say No.  The standard ID is considered a Government Issued ID card.  The only things your student ID card and Insurance Card will work for is getting you around on campus, and getting you healthcare.

You can give it a shot, but I wouldn't bet on it.  It's up to management.

  2. If the bar knows how to card people then no, those items are too easily faked.

  3. if you look old enough then probably yes. but most likely you won;t get in

  4. According to most states, the only acceptable forms of ID (by the ATF, Alcohol & Tobacco Foundation) are state issued ID's, state issued driver's license's, active military ID or passport.  Anything else can result in arrest by the ATF on the owner, manager & server/bartender so most establishments are strict on this issue.  I've seen it happen quite often & average Joe's are set up with unacceptable forms of ID's to test the establishment.  Occasionally some will feel comfortable enough to let people in with other types of ID's, but I wouldn't count on it.
