I'm 17 right now and I'm turning 18 on October 12 ... I want to vote, but my friend told me that's past the date for voter registration or w/e, is that true? I want to vote, and if I can, who should I vote for?

  1. I think it depends on the state but it may be past registration.  Worst you can do is try and register.  The registration paperwork is always at the DMV.

    Good Luck.

  2. If you need to ask who to vote for on this forum, then its probably best that you just don't vote. When you can intelligently consider the positions that each candidate has taken on current issues, and decide for yourself who will be the best president, then you should vote.

  3. You can register to vote right now. You can not vote in any elections until on or after your 18th birthday. The federal election laws says you can register to vote prior to your 18th birthday as long as there is an election after your birthday that you would miss by not registering early. I know because back in 1971 I helped to get the 18 year olds the vote and we specifically got that included in the federal law.

  4. you can vote as long as you are 18 or older on election day just register the day of your b-day

  5. I would think you can register at the polling place,

but if you are going to vote obama, i'd prefer you just stay home.

  6. Yes you will be able to vote.
