Question:

Will I be barred from entering Singapore?

I have been staying in Singapore for 60 days now using the social visit pass.

For the first 2 times, I get a 30 days stamp for the social visit pass.

However when I'm trying to renew the 3rd stamp, I am only allowed to stay in Singapore for 7 days.

Will I be barred from entering Singapore again if I try to renew the social visit pass? I'm a Malaysian.

  1. They have the right to suspect that you are working here without work permit.

Just in case no one ever tells you... you are allowed 2 months here in Singapore and you have to remain in your country for at least 1 month before coming again.

  2. Maybe not. Check with the ICA. It could be just a minor problem don't worry.

  3. It could be that the country is going through some sort of security screening.

Have you given them a reason to not let you in the country anymore?

  4. Audrey T is right.

You are lucky to be allowed the 7days @ the 3rd attempt to renew. They could have refused your entry all together. You should stay away from Singapore for at least a month before entering Singapore again.

  5. Maybe, but better ask the immigration checkpoint authority (ICA) for the details on what has happen. But most probably you have to go back to Malaysia for a few days and try again. If you want to stay in Singapore for a long time, better apply for a work or student permit by taking up a course here in Singapore and try to find a job that can give you a work permit. Or else, go back to Malaysia first and try to come back Singapore a few days later to see what happens to you.
