Question:

Will I be charged for terminating my service with TELUS?

I've been a customer of Telus for almost 5 years now.... I'm approaching the 2-year mark on my 3-year contract... but I want to cancel my service with them. I'm moving to a place that doesn't carry Telus. What kind of charges should I expect to be hit with?

  1. Although you've been a loyal client for 5 years, that unfortunately won't likely affect your cancelation fees at all. The termination policy with Telus is $20 multiplied by the number of months remaining in your contract or $100 whichever is greater. So if you have 12 months remaining in your contract you should expect to be charged $240 (12x20) plus taxes. Of course you'll have to call in to Loyalty and Retention to cancel your contract and they may give you a break if you're moving out of the country... although I wouldn't get my hopes up.

    Hope that helps!
