  1. once u start, you won't wanna stop. surfing is something u can't learn by watching, but by trying so u have to make the decision. i think you will love it. i did.

  2. i think it would defintely be an interesting and learning experience, esp if you havnt tried it before.

ive always wanted to go surfing ..

why dont you try it out with a cheaper teacher @ first, see if you actually like it , then go for the more expensive one?

in the end, what could be the worst that happened? that you dont like it ?

if you like, go ahead & pursue the activity. if not, then not.

good luckkk =] i deff think its a good starting point if u think u find it interesting

  3. you wont be the oldest, the youngest age will be 10 D's

  4. I'm not really sure what you are asking. So, I'll try to adress a couple of the issues you brought up.

First, a week long surf school or camp is a great way to get started, especially for somebody your age. The instructors will work on teaching you all of the 'basics', and there will be other noobies around, so when you goof up a little, all of the atttention won't be on you.

You can learn a lot during one hour lessons, too. But for a real beginner, I think the week long program should be more fun, and more beneficial.

I started to surf when I was 13 or 14. That was back in 1966, and that was around the same age when most of my pals started to surf. Once upon a time, little guys didn't surf (nor did Moms and Dads, like they do now). I had an advantage, because I had been swimming in the ocean and back bays since I was in first grade, so I as an old hand at body surfing and body boarding (no boogie boards back). But, we didn't have the advantage of lessons. We all learned on our own, and from older guys who were nice enough to teach us things, so it took us a longer time to catch on in some cases. Some guys NEVER got very good, and some guys lost interest in surfing and some guys, like me, are still doing it at age 56.

Go ahead and go to the surf camp. It will be fun, and you may just learn a few things. Remember, surfing is supposed to be FUN.

  5. yes.

  6. once you catch your first wave you'll never want to stop..................

    so to answer your question

    -yes! you will be hooked

  7. your moms prob right....i think at a surfing camp they will prob have a better chance of teaching you something bc there are a lot of kids, so i guess it will be like a class....personally. take you moms advice because when i was little, my mom found me a teacher and he took me out into the water and forgot about me and went to go surf with his friends....it was so humiliating...so i ended up teaching myself how to surf and it was hard...so def go to the camp

  8. You could save a whole lot of money by buying a book for $10-20 and find some friends that know know to surf or are willing to learn. On top  the cost, you're going to have to purchase a board if you want to continue surfing.

  9. yea man go for it if you want to learn. im 14 to and i want to learn to skate. not exactly the same but kindda simular.

  10. sounds fun but idk. i have never surfed before. sorry. but if u like it, you might. thanks for answering my question. that was my favorite name. blondie might just be it!
