  1. If you take it as-needed, you should be okay. But daily may become a problem because you will build up a tolerance and eventually need more to get the desired effect. The higher dose you take, the greater the risk of addiction. But your doctor should monitor you closely and make sure you do not abuse it.

  2. Addiction and benzodiazepines is a very strict phenomena. It happens, essentially when someone is a pre-existing drug addict. 0.1mg of Ativan is a very low dosage, you should be fine. If you have concerns about addiction or dependence, you should talk to your doctor about them - though the information about these drugs has been very muddled by a moral panic that occurred in the 1970s, and somewhat tarnished their name.

Keep in mind, that there are millions of people in the US who take these drugs daily, and have so for years without ever increasing their dose, or ever having an abuse problem. The only reason you should worry is if you were say, a raging alcoholic, or had a serious substance abuse problem in your history.
