  1. if you're a hardcore surfer then yeah!

  2. I get cold fast so 3/2 doesn't do it for me.  If you get cold quick go 4/3 minimum, hood, boots, gloves 45 degrees is freezing

  3. You are going to be cold.  There is a BIG difference in the water temperature between 45 and 50 degrees.  I wear a 4/3 as well in 50+ degree water most of the year and I occasionally get cold in that.

Also, some other considerations are how old your wetsuit is (newer, the warmer it will be), how good of a "fit" it is for your body, and of course whether you are wearing booties, gloves, hat, and/or a rashguard.

If all you have is a 3/2, go with some other accessories otherwise your surf session will likely be cut short as you will be cold....

  4. I wear a 3/2 out here on the west coast and I'm more than fine w/ my new Oneil.

I've never ventured out in 45 degree h2o for any long period of time.

But hey, if the surf is up, go for it!!!!
