I am 13 and I swim all year around on a competitive swim team, this summer I am doing 8 two hour a week. I'm best at breaststroke. My goal is to make it to the 2016 olympics. My best time in the 100 yard breaststroke is 1:12.41 and I have a 2:36.20 in the 200 yard. Will it be possible for me to make it to the 2016 olympics? Any thoughts on how I can improve more. And any feedback for me?

  2. Well I'll be seeing you at the 2016 olympics in swimming so you best bring your A game!

    Seriously!!!

  3. Try hard enough and you could make it to the olympics before 2016.

  4. im 12 and i go a 1.10.40 (11 &12 michigan state champion) and 2.34.76 but the olymics are in long course so its different. i just started this year

  5. It'll be hard because there are so many fast girls in the breastroke that are all young. Swimmers such as Ariana and Caitlin Leverenz are 18 or under now and will very likely still be swimming and trying to make the team in 2012 and 2016... If you keep improving and stick to your training and stay dedicated then if this is a serious goal then you can definitely make top 8 if not the team!

  6. Well, if you set your mind to it.  But before you're all like "yeahh! i'm gonna make it!", swim the race in long course meters to get a general idea of where you're at, and work from there.  Sometimes LCM times can differ from SCY times by a TON.  For example, my 200 free time for yards was a 1:59.80, but my time from LCM converted to a like 2:06 or something. So if i were you, i'd rather be safe than sorry and do a couple of LC meets to see where you're at.  good luck! =]
