Question:

Will I develop a dry socket?

I had all of my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. I have very little pain or swelling. I had something like food or a blood clot that was just sitting back there. I did not want to touch it and it was too far back to see. I was carefully rinsing my mouth out with salt water when it came loose and feel out. It was mostly white/yellow with some red on it. It had a weird blood taste. It has been about 1 hour and I don't have any pain. Was that my blood clot? Will I get a dry socket now? How long will it take for the pain of a dry socket to develop after loosing a blood clot.

  1. haha it wasn't a blood clot. the clot forms WAAAY back there. the white stuff was food my friend. FOOD :)

isn't it great! food gets caught in there like a beef catcher in your teeth!

no you won't get dry socket as long as you are cleaning out the holes and keeping your mouth in general really clean :)
