Will I ever be able to use the V.W.P to go to the US again?

I have travelled to and from the US to visit my boyfriend over the last 16months, but was "advised" when I went back in april that if I attempted to use it as frequently as I had been I would be denied access to the US. It was my 4th trip over there. How long might I have to stay out of the US before I can return again?
