  1. Pointe is a tough class once you're in it. Your feet have to be very strong and durable because you're putting all your weight on your feet, toes especially. Just keep working hard and doing your best and you will soon get into pointe.

Best of luck and stay strong!

  2. If you have a there-band do 50 on each foot in the morning and do 50 on each foot at night. For flexibility tuck your feet under your butt and sit on them to stretch out the muscle for about 2 minutes. Also do eshepes(???) and releves to help with strength. Just in case you're wondering I started dancing when I was 2 now I'm 13 and been en pointe for 2 years.

Also if your school has a pre-pointe class, go to it it helps alot!

  3. do 32 reliv'es each day 2 times a day and tell your teacher maybe he/she forgot about your pointe shoes my teacher forgot about mine if you teacher's a guy or old that's probaly the case good luck wish me luck too I'm going back to my guy ballet teacher in 2 weeks 5 days so I need all the luck I can get =^..^=

  4. I been in dance since i was 4 years old and know i am 13 and still not on pointe but my teacher says i should be on them in the fall. some excersiese to do in presure releves in first position. no plie, just up, down. then change only to the right foot and left. start with 20 and go up! so you will be able to do 300!!! my dance teacher told me to do these to make my feet stronger. do them everyday. you will get on them soon!

    Good luck!! =)

  5. Absolutely! We have one dancer in our studio. She had never danced before but had been in gymnastics for a while. She joined during her sophomore year and got her pointe shoes towards the end of her junior year.

It will not be too late for you to get them. Just work hard and maybe even talk to your instructor about your interest in going onto pointe so that they can begin to give you the instruction and correction that you need to get there quicker.

    Good luck!

  6. Many people I know are in the same situation. I have actually been in your same case.  There is one thing you need to buy.A theraband is a stretchy band that comes in different strengths. Just to start you out get a medium pull theraband. Getting excercises from you teacher would be my best solution. Doing balances for 3 minutes without your ancles wobbling says that you are halfway there. Really connect with you teacher. It is what got me to my goal faster than I could believe it. Relevee's, Feet treading, Lifting a pen with your toes, using a tennis ball to work your arch, leaving all toes on the ground and picking each one up by its self. Although they sound crazy they got me to the best in my class which got my feet stronger and helped me get into a pointe class a little earlier than the other students. Really pointe your feet to their mass capability every single time you pointe them. Roll through your feet from flexed to pointe keeping your ancle completely straight. After that it is up to you to find ways to really accell using the knowledge of your piers and teachers. Hope all of this wasn't too much to process at one time.Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Yes.  Do your barre exercises at home- pas de chevals, degages, releves and eleves are really good for your feet, ankles and calves.  If you don't get put on pointe while you're in high school, don't worry about it.  You can still take classes in university through the physical education or dance department.  I take classes through the phys ed department because they're more laid back and only worth one credit, so you don't take up too much time or money in something that's not your major.  Leaving your studio doesn't mean leaving dance behind forever.  Also, you can take open adult classes through the local dance company by your university.

  8. try doing releves on the stairs letting your heels go down past the rest of your feet.

  9. I would ask your teacher about all of this. Ask her how long it would take for you to be on pointe, and if there is anything that you can do to speed it up! I started pointe 3 or 4 years ago, and you really dont want to rush into it! And everyone thinks, oh, I cant wait to go on pointe, I will look so good! BUT IT"S SOOOOO HARD!!!! :P
