Will I feel any different immediately after acupuncture?

i am being treated for chronic pain and anxiety.  i have to say that i didn't feel immediate relief or difference as far as the pain goes after my first acupuncture appointment, but i've had the pain (nerve damage) for 8 years and the acupuncturist warned me that it may take a while to treat.  i did feel immediate relief from the anxiety after my first treatment, however.

If your practitioner is good then you should feel remarkably different. Calm and balanced are the words I would use to describe it.

If you are being treated for some local pain like arthritis in your knees only, then you may feel some easing of stiffness or symptoms. That relief will increase with each treatment.

If however you are having energy sent through weak organs and unblocking major meridian lines of the whole body then you should feel very much better and more relaxed after even one treatment. The further treatments will increase that feeling for you, I trust, as the body heals.
