Will I get in shape with this running routine?

About 4 times I week, I will run for 35 minutes doing interval training. I warm up walking for 5 mintues, and then for the next 30 minutes, I run as fast as I can for one minute, and then walk at a quick pace for three. Will I lose weight doing this? I am an 18 year old female, approx 145 pounds, 5'8".

  2. Yes but you do not have to run as fast as you can for one minute. Just run at an easy pace for as long as you can.  You can still mix it with walking, i.e. jog 3 minutes walk 1 minute.  Running hard intervals 4 times a week and especially running all out will lead to injuries.  For general fitness and weight loss, easy running or walking works just fine.
