but back to the question, will I get any trouble.

  1. if your carrying a back pack or run in the underground. The somali population is quite low. And no we don't really hate you. We hate pakistanis and other muslims, the always ask for rights and treat us like a doormat. You will be fine, especially because you are not wearing a headscarf. But don't try and change our culture or change the way we live or you will get into trouble.

  2. London is an incredibly diverse, multicultural place, I don't think anyone will even notice you're here to be honest.  I don't know what the Pakistani kid's angle is but he's wrong unless he's talking about asylum seekers or refugees which is a completely different subject & one he clearly knows nothing about.

  3. I have a somali friend and she's the most normal, lovely friend I could ever ask for, but tbh I think that pakistani kid is lying, because the Somali population is fairly low in Britian, and as well as that, they are not a group that is very distinctive if you get me (no offense), as not many people have heard of it :S.

But no of course you won't get into trouble in London! As long as you don't act suspisiuos, you will be treated like any other normal person! It's London, not the Middle Ages, we don't treat people based on colour or creed! At least I don't, and I'm sure londoners, as one of the most multicultured cities in the world, won't either. :D

  4. No, you won't. London is probably the most wonderful city I have ever been in. Every creed, colour, race and religion lives happily together. Your friend was lying.

  5. I think the Pakistani kid is winding you up.  I'm a Londoner and not only do I have absolutely no problem with Somalis but I've never heard anyone else in this city say anything remotely negative about Somalis.  If anything, it's Pakistanis that I've had heard others saying negative things about so there might be an alternative reason for the Pakistani kid saying what he did.  London is such a diverse place that nobody gives anyone of any ethnicity a second look.  It wouldn't be London if we didn't have people from all over the world here so you'll fit in just fine!
