Almost all your work is going to be days, with nights home and weekends off.

welders do not work nights or weekends.

the only time you are likely to be called out after regualr hours is if there is a derailment and they need people, and you can choose to not make yourself available if you want to.

The job will most likely be working on a 3 man crew, a foreman, grinder and a laborer.

Most of the work will be setting up and doing thermite welds on rail but there is also a lot of conventional welding on high wear points of the rail, around switches usually.
