Will I have problems taking whey protein and creatine in my luggage when I go to India? Will customs stop it?

I am going to India with work for 3 months. I am a keen gym goer and use whey protein and creatine. I have looked at sites like Maximuscle and delivery will cost around 50 pounds to India (plus their products are very expensive anyway). I've already got some stuff here and can order some more. If I take it with me am I breaking any laws, i.e. is taking food allowed. Also will taking lots of powders through customs get questioned? i.e. will they think I am some sort of drug dealer? Thanks

  1. These products are easily available in India.

Why do you want to carry them all the way?

  2. Check the List of Banned items in the Indian customs List from web site.

If it is not banned, you are free to carry but i would suggest you to take a Doctors prescription handy to prove the stuff is all about.

Best and idle you could get these items in India at a lower price and you can enjoy it with out any hassle and when you go back use your stock.*

  3. Bringing food is allowed.

Whey protein & creatin are available here. You may bring a small quantity to avoid suspicion.
