Will I have stains from my braces?

Question

I'm thirteen and getting my braces taken off on the 28th. I'm really excited but scared that I will have stains. The nurse that works with me said I will. I haven't been brushing my teeth at all like I'm supposed to. Do you think I will have stains? Is there anyway to get rid of them once you have them! PLZ HELP! Thx

sorry, but if you havent been brushing them like you should then chances are ur gonna have stains, but no worrys! try whitning strips or get profesional whitning.

I'm about to get my braces off soon as well and am worried about having stains also, even though i've been brushing my teeth properly.

I suppose there are a few things you could try to get rid of the stains...

- Buy teeth whitening strips and/or toothpaste.

- Have your teeth bleached.

and most of all, brush your teeth regularly to help prevent further tartar build up.

I guess that the next time your dentist tells you to do something, your going to do it, Lol.

I didn't mind the braces, but once I got them off and found out the stains were never going to come off, I got so freaking angry! Anyways, you'll just have to live with it. It makes me mad because nobody else has stains on their teeth, and I do.

i had braces for 6 years.

SIX. i had no stains, my teeth were actually realllllly white. i wouldn't be worried. the orthodonist cleans them and grinds them really well, they look awesome when they're taken off!

hey. i had braces and i had the same exact problem. and i have stains on my teeth. the only thing you have to do is make sure you brush a lot when they are off and try and get your teeth cleaned. the dentist told me it wont help. the stains are permantly there and you cant get rid of them. which really sux. but she did say that if you get them whitened and stuff like that it will help a little bit.
