Question:

Will I have to take my driver's test again?

In March of 2006, I got a DWI and my license were suspended for only six months. I haven't attempted to get my license back until now. I am wondering if I will have to take my driver's test over since it has been about 2 and a half years. Also I live in Arkansas. I'm not sure if any of the states are different about this.

  1. I don't think so... There should be a date on the card of wen you have to retake the written test again, but you shouldn't have to retake it if it was suspended.

  2. Contact your state DMV with this question.

  3. If it was suspended you have to show proof the DWI has been taken care of and you have everything you need from the court and police to get your license back. IF it hasn't expired you shouldn't have to retake tests, but some states might have you redo the tests to make sure you understand any new laws that have gone into effect since you were suspended.

  4. It is different by state.   You will have to call or go into your DMV.
