I went to Disk Cleanup for (C). It did a check. Up came Files to Delete: Temporary Files 73,573 KB. The explanation said : " programs store temporary info in a temp folder; before a program closes, it usually deletes this info. "

  1. No.  You can safely delete them.  Just make sure that if you have any files open, you save them first.

  2. Temporary Files are files created from internet browsing:

-images and advertisements from websites. ie; the Yahoo Answers logo is a gif now saved on your computer.

    -passwords. ie; Email password.

    -cookies.

-auto-search forms. ie; Google or Yahoo saves things you typed.

Deleting this files is fine, even recommended. However, the first time you visit sites after deleting this folder, it will take longer to load. They need to save some of the folders you just deleted, so the next time you visit the site, it won't take so long to load.

  3. no you won't, temporary files are internet files stored on your computer that make previously visited websites load up faster, it is safe to remove them and will not do any damage to your PC

  4. Hello --

Just like everyone else, I am going to say that letting Disk Cleanup delete temporary files is safe.  I want to suggest that you back-up your documents so you don't have to worry so much!  A small flash drive, a few mouse clicks and you can have a more secure system!!

    Best of luck,

    Bill
