Will I lose my US citizenship?

Question

I have a canadian and American passport, and since i have a canadian passort i can join the British Army, after 5 years in the British army I can get British Citizenship. So can I have tri-citizenship? ameri-cana-british? Or will I lose my american citizenship because i served in a foreign army.??

AND DONT SAY JOIN THE US ARMY, PLEASE, ITS ANNOYING.

If you elect to join any country's army, you are in essence pledging allegiance to that particular country and will lose your US citizenship.

You would not lose your US citizenship unless required by the UK to renounce.

No.  

The only way (in practice) to lose your US citizenship is to appear before the Department of State and take an oath renouncing it.  Unless you do that, you can't really lose US citizenship.

the US doesn't recognize multiple citizenships, but generally doesn't do much about it. You won't normally lose your citizenship by joining a foreign army. lots of Americans have served in foreign armies, especially dual citizens. Now if Britain goes to war against the US, then, maybe. So, unless you renounce your US citizenship, there won't be any problem with the US.

Yes, you will, because technically, serving in a foreign army is treason.

Serving in the armed forces of any foreign country is grounds for revocation of US citizenship, even if you were a "natural born" (i.e. born to US citizen parents) citizen.
