I was wondering will I lose my unemployment benefits if I turn down a temporary employment offer. The offer will have me making a LOT less than my previous job and it is only for a day and a half? I live in NC but let me know your state rules also.

  1. In Illinois you could actually accept this job and work and still claim unemployment benefits as long as it is below a certain percentage of your unemployment benefits.

  2. Pennsylvania.  You can earn up to a % of your UC benefits without being penalized.

If you take this temp job, you probably wouldn't earn enough to jeopardize your UC benefits.

If you exceed that amount, them  you may receive a lesser benefit, but only for that week.

Take it, get out of the house, and have something to do.

  3. you would not in illinois!!! is is not a  full time job!!!

  4. Texas.

You can and probably will lose your benefits.

If you work your earning allowance is 125% of your weekly benefit amount, if part-time. You can receive 25% more income from part-time work and partial unemployment combined, than from unemployment alone. Note: If you quit or are fired your termination reason will be re-evaluated.

If you work full time you are not eligible for benefits.
