  1. Yes... you need a visa...better to get before you go...but can get a VOA for a lot of nationalities at the airport, just remember to take passport photos with you...

The card you fill out on the plane is not a visa...this is a landing card...

  2. We always have our Visa's in advance.  Save time, trouble and money.  You can have your travel agent apply to Vietnamese Embassy for you or you can do it.  It is not hard to have done.  Cheers

  3. Yes, you will need a travel visa to get into Vietnam. Ask your travel agent or contact the Vietnamese embassy. You will also need to fill out the card handed out on the plane.

  4. If you get a visa before you go. It will eliminate the chance of the Immigration officer hitting you up for extra money and speed up getting out of the Airport.

  5. If you are citizens of these countries, you don't need a visa to enter Vietnam :

    1. ASEAN members, excluding Myanmar and Cambodia.

    2. South Korea

    3. Japan

    4. France

    5. Northern European nations : Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland.

    6. Cuba.

Officials of ASEAN Secretariat are allowed to enter VN no matter.

For more info, contact the nearest Vietnamese diplomatic office.

  6. Tom Yum Goong is correct when he advises extra passport photos. If you decide to go to another country once you are there you will need them.

Also, if you plan on going somewhere else and then going back into Vietnam BE SURE to get a multiple entry visa or you will not be able to get back in until you fill out a lot of papers and pay for a new visa.

  7. once you get there remember...cash is king

  8. Yes, best to get a visa from you nearest Vietnamese Embassy.

You can get one on arrival, but to board the plane to get to Vietnam you will have to show a letter of VOA. You can obtain this from whom ever is handling your travel arrangements in Vietnam, ie which tour company you are traveling with (... if any). But you have to pay for this as well, so it is only useful to do this if you dont have time to get visa before you depart....sometmes can take 2 weeks if you use a visa company, quicker if you complete, take in and collect directly.
