  1. depends where you were originally. if you have lots of friends to talk to there i guess so

  2. it depends on you.

my husband starts picking up local accents in less than a week.     i don't pick them up after years of living in a place.

  3. Probably not... it depends who you talk to.

I'm Australian and have a lot of Australian friends over here, so as soon as we get together we talk as if we were back home... so our accents are probably worse over here!

If you really want to get an English accent, you'd need to put in a lot of practice!

  4. Surrounding Area, cuz London is full of Multi Cultures it is 65% Ethnic and  35% original Londoners in London

  5. Probably.

  6. I was hanging out with this british teenage boy for like 5 hours and i started talking british.

  7. Doubt it..

hm.. I don't know I live in Australia for a while I have a slight accent but that's it.

  8. It depends. You might pick it up in  a short time, or you might not.

Also, if all you hear is people speaking with the british accent,

    you'll pick it up quicker.

  9. yeah to you american friends but i and other londoners will be able to tell your accent aint a real london one.

you get your accent from home, school, TV community and friends once youve grown up with one accent it barely fully changes into another one

  10. No, it's highly unlikely, I've known people who've lived here 20 years and more and still have their own accents.

Sometimes if people pick up words or phrases in a foreign country they might pronounce them in  a similar way to the country where the word or originated.

The only person I ever knew who was susceptible to picking accents was unconsciously using it as a means of trying to blend in but wound up making a fool of themselves - once she was away from the person she was trying to ingratiate herself with it usually disappeared.

  11. I'm guessing you're American, right?  I doubt that you will, people usually keep their accents from where they grew up.  If anything, your American accent will have a slightly British tone, but you won't have a full British accent without faking it.
