OKay I'll make this as brief as possible. I lost my 56 deg vokey (sucks, but i found it for free anyways) and I have been using a 56 deg mizuno that im really not happy with. I have the opportunity to use a 54 degree vokey now instead of my mizuno. Will I notice the difference...from the rough, from the sand, chipping? Consider I would have a PW, 54, and 60 in the bag. Really what I want to know is a 56 really that much more useful than a 54?

  1. The 2 degree of loft makes a difference in approx 1 club distance, and it makes a difference on the softness of the landing of the ball on the green.

  2. Yes, it a pretty big difference. I bent my 56 (10 bounce) to 54. I love it.

For me, I hit a very high ball, 56 and 60 was too close in loft. 54 makes full shots easier.

  3. the 56 is better from the sand , buy tou have that covered with the 60 degree . if you play on public courses the 60 degree will do just fine . it is a large distace gap between wedges . possibly a 58 degree if you feel uncfortable with 60 degree . which is a 60 yard club . 54 degree 110 . the simple solution would be to take the 54 to a club repair shop , have loft increased to 55 degree . 60 degree deflofted to 58.5 . this will put you in ballpark figures . i am a old guy tossed driver 3 years ago playing 5 wedges . works out very well . wedges are about feel . i have 4 different brands . in bag . proably 50 in basement . really helps older guys . it is a personal choice . thank you

  4. Probabaly not much, most of it will be in your head.  If you're just unhappy with the loft, then have it bent.  Vokey are forged so you can bend it couple of degrees no problem.

  5. If you are a very low handicap, it could make a difference, if above 10 handicap your wouldn't see a difference.

  6. NO, If the bounce of the clubs are the same, they should play the same, the only difference you should notice is a bit of distance.
