  1. Vegetarians who eat fish are not vegetarians. And you can easily find protein while not eating fish....

Honestly, I don't understand why people think they can be vegetarians, which by definition is a person who dosen't eat meat, but still eat fish.

  2. do your research as to show them where you find the protein in foods. You need to make sure you are well informed going into this, and that they understand the lifestyle you have chosen.

  3. You don't know ANY vegetarians that eat fish. There's no such thing. That's called an OMNIVORE (or pescatarian). Fish is meat, so if you eat it, you're not vegetarian, so don't call yourself one.

  4. It's your decision to make, but vegetarians don't eat any animals including fish. You won't be a vegetarian anymore if you decide to eat fish.

Also, there are tons of good vegetarian sources of protein. Almonds, black beans, cashews, fake meats garbanzo beans (chickpeas), kidney beans, lentils, peanut butter, pinto beans, soybeans, sunflower seeds, tofu....

    I hope this helps.

  5. eat it

  6. I think you're going to eat it anyway,so don't ask people if you are going to regret it.It's your conscience, deal with it.

  7. it's up to you, you are still young so it might be better to compromise with yoru parents adn eat fish now and then until your old enough to do more of the shopping and cooking on your own.  however, you dont' have to eat fish for protein, there's more than enough other ways to get your protein without fish!  i barely ever ate seafood and certainly haven't since i went vegetarian, i also don't drink milk or eat eggs and i get more than enough protein in a day!  just make sure your eating other sources (soy meats, soy milk, nuts, peanut butter, lentils, beans, tofu.... lots of veggies) and you should be ok.  but if you have to do the fish thing for a bit to work with your parents, you can always stop later.

  8. there are plenty of ways to get enough protein as a vegetarian, and your parents should respect your choice as such. as long as you educate yourself on vegetarian protein sources and eat enough of them, you don't need any fish. however, it's your choice if you want fish one night, you can go back to being a vegetarian after.  at least your making a bit of a difference unlike those who eat animal products 3 times a day(average people).  i know from experience that its difficult to get the right vegetarian foods when living with non-vegetarians, but im sure you can get by with the help of your parents.

  9. At your age you should do whatever your parents want.

You will regret it later in life when you bones begin to crumble from osteoporosis.

  10. You're still growing, so your body does need more protein than an adult would. Fish is very high in protein, but that doesn't mean you should eat a lot of it (once a week max).

Do some research on Vegan protein sources. Also, decide what your stand is on milk (USDA Certified Organic or local-farm, please). Milk is a good source of protein as well, and if the cows are treated properly, there's really no cruelty involved (in fact, cows go through some pain if they produce more milk than their calves can consume).

As for tonight, go ahead and eat half a portion. Then after you find some good information, sit down with your parents and talk about your new meal plan. Show them that you're serious about it and responsible.

  11. there are alot more sources of protien out there. you can find it in morningstar products. i tried my first morningstar burger yesterday and it was awesome.

    fish are friends. not food.

  12. Vegetarians don't eat any meat, including fish/seafood. So you don't know any vegetarians who eat fish, cause they don't exist. But they are pescatarians if they don't eat any other meat. Plus there are better ways to get more protein then in meat.

  13. You won't be a vegetarian ANYMORE.  That'll be the end of it.  Real vegetarians NEVER eat fish or any other type of meat.

There are plenty of other foods that contain protein.  If your parents think that only meat has protein they need to do some research...especially if their own very young daughter is a vegetarian.

Fake meat, beans, nuts, and a lot of different vegetables contain protein.  Believe me...fish is not the way to go.  It will be the end of your vegetarianism.

  14. Vegetarians do not eat fish.

Fish are animals. Vegetarians don't eat animals.

You're parents obviously never took a biology course or they'd know what protein is. Protein is found in every living thing.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts and seeds are all great sources of protein.
