Will I see a big diffence on blu-rays using 720p or 1080p?

  1. It really depends where you sit.

    The human eye can resolve detail at a closer distance than it can further away. So, if you have a 1080p HDTV and sit close enough you will see detail you won't see either further away or on a 720p HDTV at the same distance.

    It's difficult to be precise since the distances vary with size of the screen. And the eyesight of the viewer also matters.

  2. According to the December 2006 issue of Consumer Reports, you will not see much difference on a small screen t.v. [lcd or plasma].  However, if the image is in excess of 65 inches [diagonally]; you'll notice the difference.
