  1. depends on the college .

  2. It does depend on the college.  Your best bet is to look at the university web sites to find out exactly what they require you take before they accept you.  Normally its under their admissions page and will be something like admission standards.  This was an example from my colleges web site on their admission standards.  So I had taken some foreign languages in high school but didn'n necessarily need them.

English/Communications (composition, literature and rhetoric) 4 units*

Mathematics (algebra, geometry and higher) 3 units*

Science (two must be from biology, chemistry or physics) 3 units*

    Social Studies 3 units*

Additional Academic Electives (from the above areas or other academic or vocational areas 4 units*

  3. okay take it from someone that never took a language in high school and is now trying to take Spanish in collage. IT SUCKS! Every one in my introductory Spanish class took high school Spanish. I am so lost because the instructor sees everyone (but me) knows some words she is moving FAST!

I will force my children to learn spanish before collage!
