Many feel he proved to be an out of touch dinosaur when he admonished Usain Bolt for his lightning bolt moves and failure to shake hands with hi competitors as being anti-sportsman-like. What's your take?http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080821/ap_on_sp_ol/oly_ioc_rogge

  1. I hope his comments come back to haunt him. Usain has achieved 3 gold medals and 3 world records in 1 olympics. Let the man celebrate if he wants to. After he won the 100m and 200m did he have time to shake any hands with reporters swarming him like they did? Usually persons go over to the winner and congratulate him and that was done. Jacques Rogge just bad mind. "JAMAICA TO DE WERL" (Jamaica to the world).

  2. If Bolt is representing US; France; GB; or any other powerhouse countries and he acted like that; I'm pretty sure that country that he is representing will be ashamed. But he is from Jamaica and he gets away with it.

Anyways don't bother with Rogge's comments. It's an opinion. Bolt's showboat antics is very infectious and very entertaining for many people but some they don't like it.

  3. Old news.

Why would it come back to haunt him, he's correct.  It was a comment, big deal.

  4. Something is seriously wrong with his head. How did he get to be the President of IOC??? There are more pressing issues in the Olympics and he has the time to be chiding an athlete who is just celebrating his achievement?

  5. Rogge's comments were churlish and uncalled for and I hope they comments come back to haunt him but remember, this is the IOC, one of the most self serving and corrupt organisations in the world... Chances are they will just laugh it off over a champagne or two and get onto more important matters, like whether to have Oscietra or Beluga caviar on the private jets.
