  1. normally the insured provides this to the company.  the company CAN pull your CLUE and MVR reports and see any accidents you have been involved in.  the reports do not state who was at fault or what happened so its important that you supply the report to them.

  2. It's the responsibility of the insured to report it to their insurer.

The other driver should/will contact your insurer.

The insurer must have your police report in order to honor any claims.

  3. Well, if you are asking if your insurance company will be notified of your accident without you telling them, then the answer is no.

If you reported an accident to your carrier and they are needing the police report, they will request a copy of the police department. Many companies order the reports thru an agency called Choice Point. Where they can order and view the reports online.

However, sometimes it takes the police departments a while to respond to the insurance companies request. If you wanted to expedite the claim to get it resolved faster, you could always provide the company with a copy of the report, that is, if you have it, or are able to obtain a copy.

    Hope this helps
