Question:

Will Ireland top the "pool of death" in the World Cup!?

So far i hear a lot of people saying that there are 6 or 7 teams to contest properly for the World Cup, but in all honesty the reality is that there is probably only two (Aus & NZ) Australia have the best expierence for a World Cup & New Zealand are the best in the world at the moment for a reason..

But they both have easy groups, France have to face Ireland and argentia. At the moment france are one of the favourites with there good run of form, no one can deny that they have played extremely well recently and have been in camp together since June. I believe that they may have peaked too early.

Then on the other hand Ireland are yet to perform, but we have the luxury of two easy matches before we face france to get our act together.

Argentina, the have only gone from strength to strength & are very strong too, very similar to Ireland (it'll be another great match). Will they be able to upset France as France face an unforgiving public.

What do you think?

  1. The WARRIORS will

  2. Top the pool of death??  I'm wondering IF they'll qualify from the pool of death.  I'm still not sure why Irish rugby supporters still think that they have what it takes to take the cup home.

  3. You can't go past France to top the pool with Ireland grabbing 2nd place.

Argentina are to inconsistent especially away from home.

I would however love to see draw in one of the games between the big 3 in the group.  Now that would make interesting.

  4. I think France is going all the way

  5. I think Ireland will be the ones missing out from this pool, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they won the pool and France missed out because France can be so inconsistant.  It is really THAT close and on any given day, any of those three teams could beat each other.  France could hammer Argentina by 30 points, and if they played the next day, Argentina could win it... it is definately the most exciting pool and if all goes as expected (France winning the pool) then that last game on Sept 30th is going to WICKED!

I don't think it is a two horse race between NZ and Australia though, I think South Africa has a better chance than the Aussies.  I cant see France playing badly if they make the semi's so I wouldn't count them out if they are around either.

  6. i think France will win the group, with Ireland beng runner-up
