For a guy so young he has all the hallmarks of becoming one of the best.

If the pressure does not get to him ( it does not show at the moment)

Do you think he has what it takes to be one of the best of all time?

  1. could become, if he maintains his consistency, which is important for a successful player.

  2. It still too early to say but if he continue on doing his best then he could be Indians one of great bowlers but at the moment he still have a lot to prove, he is still young and a lot of learning to do...

  3. Yes. Certainly.

  4. yes

  5. No.

  6. we'll all be say Ishant who...In about 18 months.

  7. Never

  8. Definitely yes, going by what the Aussie captain Ponting had to say in Ishant Sharma's praise...no doubt he is currently one of the finest in the game

  9. Its to early to tell and its not fair to put that kind of pressure on him at such a young age. iv seen to much promising talent wasted or futures ruined by injury to go making any predictions

The Guy definitly has the talent, so only time will show us if he will be a great or another forgotten fast bowling talent

I really hope he continues to gain success

  10. He definitely has what it takes to be one of the best of all time. However, he has to ensure that he stays healthy, and doesn't get carried away with his success & popularity

  11. He has tons of potential BUT can i remind you of one thing.

James Anderson of England, in his 1st ever test match got a 5fer, and in his first 2 years of ODI cricket he averaged 22 with the ball. People were saying that Anderson had the potential to become one of the best fast bowlers that England have ever produced. Now in 2008 Anderson has an average record in tests and ODI's, and he is on the verge of getting dropped from the side.

The point of telling you that is, not to get too excited too quickly !!, some players can have great starts to there careers and then slowly fade away !!. Sharma cannot be judged on 2 series, he needs to be judged on 2 years of international cricket. If Sharma is still getting loads of wickets per series, in 2 years time, then YES !! he could become one the greatest fast bowlers of all time.

  12. While he has all the making to be a great bowler, lot will depend upon his fitness and ability to keep up the performance consistently.

  13. he's actually a bit one-dimensional and since he is new, ppl have a hard time figuring him out. someone mentioned james anderson, ill also like to mention andrew strauss. when he first burst onto the scene, no one had a clue on how to get him out. now he barely makes the england squad. so first impressions can be decieving only time will tell

  14. Oh yes, he sure is potential. His plus points are height, pace, seem grip, smooth action.

  15. If he keeps on to develop I think he has a good chance to become a feared bowled throughout his career

  16. he is nothing compare to mohammad asif

  17. sorry to break it to u my friend but in all likelihood he won't. In recent years, many new pace bowlers have come to play for India seemed to be playing "amazing" but after 2, 3 years were completely erased from the public eye.

best examples i can think of are nehra, agarkar, balaji, zaheer khan to an extent, pathan

  18. I don't think so. look at his bowling he can only swing in only one direction.and moreover the Australian pitches really helped him.

it only takes some time for the batsman to figure him out

  19. of course itl  wil take time  to see ,but if im a betting man il should put money on him to be up there with the best

he is already one off the most deadliest .... look at what he did to ponting Hayden symmonds

India really missed him against SA ,then when he came on he took wickets immediately

look at what happened in IPL he took wickets first ball

people who say hel get worked out, hes only one dimension ....hes only 19 old teenager ,i don't think any teenager comes into test cricket  with a full repotouire , hel develop different balls to bowl with experience  then hel be even more DEADLY!!!
