No. In 1988 Lloyd Bensten was the VP nominee for the Democrats running with Michael Dukakis, but he won back his Senate seat in Texas and returned to the Senate. In 2000, Joe Lieberman was the VP nominee for the Democrats running with Al Gore, but he won back his Senate seat in Connecticut and returned to the Senate. I hope Biden who is Obama's running mate will win back his Senate seat and he and Obama will return to the Senate next year. It would follow a pattern that I am hoping for this year.
